FWS – Art Gallery

Position Description

  • Exchanges information with the art faculty as well as students, faculty, and staff as needed; regarding program related subject-matter, resources, materials, events, policies and procedures associated with the division events, programs, and spaces.
  • Assists organization and helps receiving of art for various gallery shows.
  • Shows careful attention at all times when handling art pieces.
  • Assists with all aspects of gallery events and outreach activities.
  • Make presentations to small and large groups, and conduct outreach activities to publicize course, services, performances, and programs as assigned.
  • Uses a variety of computer software to perform assigned duties.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Knowledge of relevant software, including Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Google Workspace (Google Drive, Google Photos, Google Forms) and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong sense of punctuality and meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to easily adapt to the changing needs of the division and a fast-paced work environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Art Major, or has taken relevant courses.
    • Interest in learning gallery practices.
    • Flexibility with work schedule.
  • This is a Federal Work Study position and applicants must be eligible.

Hours: 15-20
