In order to secure an on-campus job at Skyline College, a student must be enrolled at either Skyline College, Cañada College, or CSM. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more units during the Fall and Spring semesters, and 3 or more units during the Summer session.

To apply for Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions, you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the school year, and have received a Federal Work-Study offer. Position Description Our Financial Aid Team is looking for personable students who are interested in working with assisting current, prospective students and their families in overcoming financial barriers. Our Campus Ambassadors will help students apply for financial aid, raise awareness of State and Federal Financial Aid and Scholarship Resources. Also, assist with financial aid activities such as workshops, presentations and Financial Aid Awareness Day.
Responsibilities

  • Providing support to other students, staff, faculty & community members with their questions at the front desk
  • Communicate with local high schools, community organizations and the public to answer general financial aid questions
  • Work with the Financial Aid Program Service Coordinator between the College, local high schools and community partners for community events such as Cash for College and College Fairs and financial aid application workshops

Qualifications and Desirable Skills Qualifications

  • Eligible for Federal Work-study Program
  • Completed a FAFSA Application and eligible for the Federal Work Study Program
  • Must be a Skyline College student in good academic standing enrolled in 6.0 units or more each semester
  • Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (Cumulative 2.5 GPA and 67% Pace Rate)
  • Knowledge of Zoom, WebSMART Microsoft Suite Programs and CCC Apply, etc
  • Must be willing to commit to the position for a minimum of one year
  • Must have a reliable transportation to visit outreach (off campus) locations
  • Available to work 10-15 hours a week (may work up to 20 hours per week) with flexibility to support some evening and weekend work
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/Chinese/Tagalog) is desirable
  • Have a desire to learn more about community colleges and communicating to the public
