Position Description
- Responsibilities
1. Administrative Support: Assist with the daily operations of the Career Readiness and Job Placement office, including answering phones, responding to emails, scheduling student meetings, compiling Career Services event and workshop materials and managing office inventory.
2. Event Coordination: Assist in organizing, setting up, and supporting career-related events throughout their duration, including career fairs, Industry Leadership Council, on-campus events, tabling and workshops.
3. Student Assistance: Assisting students in person, via email, and by phone to identify their needs and schedule them for the appropriate Career Services appointments.
4. Data Management: Assist maintaining databases of the job postings and employer contacts as requested. Upon request, track and compile data on student participation and survey responses for Career Services.
5. Resource Development: Under the support and collaboration with a Coordinator, assist in creating and distributing campus and career resources including job search guides, flyers, slides, and content for Career Services events and workshops, as requested.
6. Outreach and Promotion: Assist in promoting Career Services and events through various channels, including social media, campus bulletin boards, LinkedIn, flyer distribution, and occasional classroom presentations, as directed.
7. Career Closet: Assist with daily operations and ongoing process development/improvements for the Career Closet, under the guidance and support of the Career Services Aide.
Requirements
- 1. Enrollment Status: Must be a current student enrolled in at least 6 units during the fall and spring semesters (3 units during summer).
2. Communication Skills: Verbal and written communication skills are essential.
3. Organizational Skills & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
4. Technical Skills: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools, and willingness to learn new systems.
5. Student Support & Customer Service: Interest in supporting a diverse student population in a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centered manner.
6. Professionalism & Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
7. Initiative & Willingness to Learn: Ability to take initiative, ask questions, and build new skills while working under general supervision.
8. Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as a part of a team and contribute to a supportive work environment. - Must be Federal Work Study eligible
