Position Description

  • The Student Assistant supports the Dual Enrollment team by helping onboard high school students into Skyline College programs, including guiding them through the application and registration process both in-person at high school sites and virtually.The role includes regular communication with students about early college opportunities, assisting with workshops and outreach events, and following up with applicants to support successful enrollment.The Student Assistant also performs administrative tasks such as maintaining student records, managing spreadsheets, coordinating course and registration logistics, and supporting program operations.

    Additionally, the role involves representing Skyline College at high schools and community events, developing knowledge of college programs and services, and collaborating with team members and campus partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications include current enrollment at Skyline College with at least a 2.0 GPA and the appropriate units, strong communication and customer service skills, dependability, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.The position requires proficiency with office and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Zoom, as well as experience handling confidential information and basic data management. Students must be able to travel to local high schools and community sites and maintain professional conduct in outreach settings.Preferred qualifications include familiarity with community college enrollment processes and educational pathways, as well as bilingual or multilingual communication skills, which support effective engagement with diverse student populations.
  • This is a Federal Work Study position and applicants must be eligible.
