In order to secure an on-campus job at Skyline College, a student must be enrolled at either Skyline College, Cañada College, or CSM. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more units during the Fall and Spring semesters, and 3 or more units during the Summer session.

To apply for Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions, you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the school year, and have received a Federal Work-Study offer. Position Description We are currently on the lookout for a committed and dedicated student assistant to join our mailroom team. As a vital part of our operations, the student assistant will play an integral role in ensuring our mailroom functions efficiently. This position requires a good understanding of the campus layout and its various departments, demonstrating a commitment of 20 hours per week.The student aid for the mail room will be responsible for helping the Mail Clerk with everyday duties including:

  • Receiving mail & checking it in
  • Sorting mail for departments, campuses, and persons
  • Delivering mail to the Skyline Campus
  • Learning where all departments/mailboxes are located
  • Aiding in the handling of large or heavy packages
  • Customer Service – helping departments/student mail packages & basic knowledge of mail services
Requirements / Desirable Skills
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study
  • Ability to lift 30lbs+
  • Ability to answer phone calls & ask the Mail Clerk questions if needed
  • Ability to learn the Skyline Campus & remember where/how to deliver mail/packages to the appropriate location
  • Basic Excel knowledge
  • Customer Service skills
  • Knowledge of sorting and stacking packages/mail effectively & safely
