In order to secure an on-campus job at Skyline College, a student must be enrolled at either Skyline College, Cañada College, or CSM. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more units during the Fall and Spring semesters, and 3 or more units during the Summer session.

To apply for Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions, you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the school year, and have received a Federal Work-Study offer. Position Description
  • Answer phones and respond to student inquiries.
  • Input Date on excel shits.
  • Assist students with Guardian Scholars Resource questions.
  • Respond to e-mails from Google Mail and Outlook.
  • Perform routine data entry from workshop registration portals.
  • Assist with workshop registration and confirmation emails.
  • Student Assistant support social media campaigns for student recruitment and engagement with transfer resources.
  • Class presentations and tabling events regarding GSP Services
  • Manage zoom rooms/break out rooms when needed.
  • Provide student support depending on request -customer service
  • Create flyer’s for marketing
  • Assist with data entry to student databases.
  • Support with coordinating student events.
  • Provide support to our Spanish Speaking population.
Requirements and Desirable Skills
  • This is a Federal Work Study position and applicants must be eligible
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with data entry tasks
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, Google Suite, Microsoft, Adobe Reader, zoom etc.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic
  • Socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff
  • Ability to present to a large group
  • Knowledge of Foster Care services offered by the County.
  • Familiarity with basic financial aid resources.
  • Actively participating at the Guardian Scholars Program.
