In order to secure an on-campus job at Skyline College, a student must be enrolled at either Skyline College, Cañada College, or CSM. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more units during the Fall and Spring semesters, and 3 or more units during the Summer session.

To apply for Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions, you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the school year, and have received a Federal Work-Study offer. Position Description
  • Assist with Skyline College’s outreach and new student recruitment efforts on-and-off campus
  • Great opportunity to develop leadership experience and hone public-speaking skills.
  • Learn various aspect of community outreach, relationship building and event planning.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to learn more about working in higher education and the public sector.
  • Opportunity to gain insight on daily experiences of recruitment at large community college and understand strategic recruiting and marketing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students and families about opportunities available at Skyline; academic programs, student support, services/resources.
  • Represent Skyline College at local high schools and within the community. Responsibilities include and are not limited to: staffing tables/booth at high school /college and career fairs and other community events.
  • Providing campus tours to individuals and large groups, facilitate workshops and assist incoming students with getting started and enrolled at Skyline College.
  • Following-up with general inquiries, via phone and email from incoming and prospective students- encouraging students to apply or assisting with registration issues.
  • Working closely with high school (K-12) students enrolling in college courses through concurrent enrollment.
  • Supporting various activities and campus-wide events hosted by different programs and departments.
Requirements and Desirable Skills
  • This is a Federal Work Study position and applicants must be eligible
  • Detailed oriented, good written and oral communication
  • Excellent customer service skills, outgoing/social and people person.
  • Active-listener, possess organizational and time management skills
  • Be able to serve as a positive role-model for students/ youth, collaborative and fosters a teamwork environment
  • Computer and technology savvy.

Preferably has a car, valid driver’s insurance and license.
