In order to secure an on-campus job at Skyline College, a student must be enrolled at either Skyline College, Cañada College, or CSM. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more units during the Fall and Spring semesters, and 3 or more units during the Summer session.

To apply for Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions, you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the school year, and have received a Federal Work-Study offer. Position Description
Peer Wellness Educators will be promoting mental health awareness on campus through helping to organize campus events, giving classroom presentations/workshops, tabling, flyering, and other such duties. Peer Wellness Educators will support and expand the Active Minds at Skyline student club.

Club meetings are generally one hour weekly or every other week and attendance would be part of the Peer Wellness Educator’s responsibilities.

Peer Wellness Educators serve as an on-campus resource for students to get connected to Personal Counseling and other services.

Peer Wellness Educators also receive training opportunities on a variety of mental health issues ranging from coping and stress, mindfulness, healthy relationships, suicide, and others.
This position is in-person, though some meetings and/or events may be zoom-based from time to time.

Requirements/Desirable Skills
  • This is a Federal Work Study position and applicants must be eligible
  • Organized
  • Interested in raising mental health awareness
  • Willing to give presentations to classrooms
  • Creative in coming up with events and ways to connect with the Skyline student body
  • Willing to talk with other students about upcoming activities and events
  • Social media savvy (not mandatory, but encouraged)
  • Self-starter, shows initiative
  • Graphic design skills and a passion for public speaking are pluses
