In order to secure an on-campus job at Skyline College, a student must be enrolled at either Skyline College, Cañada College, or CSM. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more units during the Fall and Spring semesters, and 3 or more units during the Summer session.

To apply for Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions, you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the school year, and have received a Federal Work-Study offer. Position Description
  • Works directly with the Division Assistant, and the Dean when necessary, to provide general administrative and clerical support for daily tasks, interacting with students, faculty, and staff as needed; regarding program related subject matter, resources, materials, events, policies and procedures associated with the division events, programs, and spaces.
  • Staffs division office welcome desk and engages with students and the public about SS/CA and provide “Warm Hand-offs” to other campus resources as needed.
  • Assists with all aspects of SS/CA events and outreach activities.
  • Provides general support to the SS/CA staff, including but is not limited to: phone calls, data entry, document creation, posting informational signage and publicity flyers.
  • Organizes and maintains Division Workroom, delivers/distributes mail, and supports equipment use (e.g. – copy machine).
  • Uses a variety of computer software to perform assigned duties.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements and Desirable Skills
  • This is a Federal Work Study position and applicants must be eligible

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience in using various types of social media
  • Knowledge of relevant software, including Microsoft Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace (Google Drive, Google Photos, Google Forms) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to deal with confidential information with discretion
  • Strong sense of punctuality and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to easily adapt to changing needs of the division and fast-paced work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Social Science / Creative Arts Major or has taken relevant courses.
  • Flexibility with work schedules.
