In order to secure an on-campus job at Skyline College, a student must be enrolled at either Skyline College, Cañada College, or CSM. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more units during the Fall and Spring semesters, and 3 or more units during the Summer session.

To apply for Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions, you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the school year, and have received a Federal Work-Study offer. Position Description
  • Participate in peer tutoring for STEM subjects in the STEM Center
  • Promote STEM Center tutoring services through class announcements, board reminders, and electronic communication
  • Maintain regular communication with the course’s faculty and the STEM Center Program Services Coordinator (PSC) and Instructional Aide II (IA II)
  • Behave in a professional and respectful manner at all times
  •  Other administrative duties as assigned
Requirements and Desirable Skills
  • This is a Federal Work Study position and applicants must be eligible
  • Enroll in at least 6 units throughout the semester within the San Mateo County Community College District
  • Complete FAFSA for 2024-2025
  • Maintain good academic standing with Skyline College
  • Must have at least a B in the course for which you are applying to
  • Must be able to tutor PHYS 210 OR PHYS 250Ability to tutor additional subjects is favored
  • Attention to detail; excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Participate in all training, meetings, and other activities as scheduled
  • Must be available to work at least 5 – 15 hours per week
